What is in the deck
The One Piece Characters deck has 80 cards. You won't see the order. A few of the names you might draw:
- Monkey D. Luffy
- Roronoa Zoro
- Sanji
- Nico Robin
- Trafalgar Law
A worked spend
You have $20 for 5 picks. Spend $7 on Monkey D. Luffy and you've got $13 for four more cards. The reserve rule keeps $1 back for every slot you still owe, so your next bid tops out at $10. Win Usopp, Nami, Tony Tony Chopper and Nico Robin at $1 each and you finish with $9 left over. That's your score. Try $5 on every card instead and the rule stops you on the fourth: $5 left, two slots to fill, so $4 is the most you can bid.
How to draft One Piece Characters
In an 80-card deck most of what you draw will be minor characters, so spending $7 on Luffy is a bet that the other four slots can be filled at $1 each. That usually works. The risk is the reverse: bidding on every recognisable name and reaching card 20 with nothing left for Law or Robin.
The rules are the same for every category and take a minute to read: how to play, or why an auction beats a snake draft.
